Cortland Partners’ vibrant communities stretch far and wide across the United States landscape. From sun-drenched Arizona to culture-rich Nashville (and a fresh new outpost cropping up across the pond – yes, the big pond – next year), each property is infused with regional flair and location-specific design choices – no small feat for a company managing over 100 distinct communities. With thoughtful curation and top-tier amenities, Cortland Partners delight their residents with an “elevated rental experience” unlike any other. Melanie French, Executive Vice President of Operations, believes the main difference is the “inherent sense of calm” present in Cortland communities, a feeling that has been carefully created by the in-house interiors team of over 40 design professionals. French says, “A lot of thought has been put into design, features, and amenities.”
Tucked into the wooded hills of North Carolina, Cortland’s Hunt Club is a peaceful residential community in Northeast Charlotte – a suburban respite for young families and professionals. The property’s design, a mix of modern and classic southern styles, reflects the sensibilities of contemporary Charlotteans. With modern tastes in mind, Cortland Partners’ design team focused on features that promote community, connection, and wellness, especially in the outdoor social spaces and athletic complex.
Community areas, like the spacious clubhouse, are Hunt Club’s most resident-centric features. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the glittering swimming pool and outdoor lounge, while private cabanas, poolside Wi-Fi, and complimentary fitness classes add to the 5-star atmosphere. Just steps from the swimmers and sunbathers, tree-lined pathways lead to an outdoor movie theatre,
indoor athletic center, and a “bark park” for residents’ furry friends. To complete this staycation-worthy space with luxe outdoor furnishings, Cortland Partners turned to Summer Classics Contract.
Inspired by the modern lighting, brushed nickel hardware, and bright white tiles of Hunt Club’s interior spaces, the Cortland Partners design team chose the Summer Classics Contract Rustic Collection, arranging plentiful Rustic Lounge Chairs and Rustic Chaise Lounges around the outdoor lounge. Perfect for a poolside picnic, Club Aluminum Dining Tables and Side Chairs provide generous dining space. Sunbrella fabrics in cool grey and navy blue mask typical signs of wear, while Carolina-blue accents highlight the alma mater (Go Tar Heels!) of many Hunt Club residents. Able to withstand North Carolina’s often-unpredictable weather, Summer Classics’ four seasons N-Dura resin wicker was an ideal choice for this commercial project. In addition to unmatched durability, the designers point to luxurious Summer Classics finishes – slate grey wicker and aluminum – as their favorite element of the final design.
Kai Henderson, Cortland’s Design Media Specialist, is equally enthusiastic about the Hunt Club outdoor amenity spaces, emphasizing the importance of community programming (pool parties, wine tasting Wednesdays), and the role these social areas play in fostering a sense of belonging: “Our goal is to bring residents together. That’s what our design team works for – creating lasting memories in beautiful spaces.” Amid flourishing growth and expansion, Cortland Partners’ core objectives remain the same: to provide residents with unrivaled customer service and create welcoming homes nationwide. Henderson describes Summer Classics furniture as a “great foundation” for Cortland communities; through upgrades, renovations, and growth, Summer Classics will always be there for life’s best moments.
